About Shrink Software
Shrink Software is the developer of Shrink Manager, an early-stage but commercially deployed platform that helps food manufacturers digitize shrink, production workflows, compliance records, and financial processes. The system is used across a multi-site ready-to-eat (RTE) food manufacturing operation and continues to grow through pilot partnerships with small and mid-sized food companies.
Our focus is simple:
give food operators a right-sized, affordable system that connects production, compliance, and financials — without the weight of a full ERP.
Where We’re Going
We believe modern food operations need something between paper logs and a major ERP platform.
Our long-term roadmap includes:
-
multi-location analytics
-
predictive insights for at-risk SKUs
-
expanded traceability and compliance reporting
-
integrations with POS and ordering systems
-
improved workflow builders
-
delivery and routing enhancements
-
production forecasting tools
-
deeper financial automation
Everything we build is informed by real users, real kitchens, and real compliance demands.
Built Inside a Real Food Operation
Shrink Manager wasn’t created in a vacuum. It began as an internal system inside a fast-growing food manufacturer supplying grocery retail partners across the Midwest. As production expanded to multiple kitchens and dozens of retail locations, several challenges became clear:
-
paper logs were slowing everything down
-
FSMA-required record review was becoming overwhelming
-
shrink was difficult to track accurately
-
work orders weren’t tied cleanly to invoices
-
existing ERP solutions were far too expensive, rigid, or overbuilt
So we built a focused system that matched the actual flow of a real production kitchen and delivery operation — not a theoretical one.
This live deployment remains the foundation for every new feature we build.
Built in a Living Kitchen, Not a Lab
Unlike most software tools that start as theoretical models, Shrink Manager was shaped by the day-to-day realities of an active RTE food manufacturer:
-
rapid production cycles
-
short shelf-life inventory
-
deliveries to multiple retailers
-
strict food safety and compliance standards
-
SKU-level shrink that directly affects margins
Because of this, every workflow, dashboard, and logging interface in Shrink Manager is grounded in what front-line teams actually do, not what a software designer assumes they do.
The system is currently deployed in this environment, where we are validating:
-
shrink logging
-
SKU attribution
-
reason codes
-
delivery workflows
-
work order structure
-
foundational analytics
This live deployment provides the real-world feedback that informs every design decision.
Commercially Deployed, Actively Evolving
Today, Shrink Manager is:
-
used across multiple production sites
-
generating subscription revenue
-
integrated with QuickBooks
-
tied to real production orders for automated invoicing
-
used daily by production teams, supervisors, and delivery personnel
-
supporting digital logs for shrink, production checks, and deliveries
At the same time, the platform remains early-stage, with active refinement based on ongoing feedback. As we work with additional pilot partners, we continue tailoring modules, dashboards, and workflows to support a broader range of food operations.
Shrink Manager is reliable enough to use today — but flexible enough to grow with operators who need more.
Designed for Today’s Food Safety Requirements
Small and mid-sized food companies are increasingly required to comply with the same standards as large manufacturers.
Under FSMA’s Preventive Controls Rule (21 CFR 117):
-
production logs
-
monitoring records
-
corrective actions
-
verification steps
-
shrink / disposal logs
-
delivery documentation
…must be reviewed, verified, and audit-ready.
Retail chains and third-party auditors (AIB, NSF, SQF, BRC) are demanding greater traceability and documentation from suppliers.
Shrink Manager was built specifically to support these growing requirements by providing a simple, centralized digital record system that matches the real workflows inside a kitchen.
Beyond Operations: Connecting Financials
One of the most significant gaps in small and mid-sized food operations is the disconnect between production records and billing.
Shrink Manager closes that gap.
-
Work orders and production batches feed directly into invoicing
-
Invoices are automatically generated and synced with QuickBooks
-
Reduces administrative labor
-
Eliminates manual billing errors
-
Creates a clean audit trail for customers and finance teams
This integration is already live in our commercial deployment and continues to expand.
Pilot Partners
Ideal for food manufacturers, commissary kitchens, or multi-unit brands that want early access to the platform and influence over the next phase of development.
Pilot benefits include:
-
customized onboarding
-
workflow mapping
-
direct access to engineers & product leadership
-
early access to new features
-
discounted early-partner pricing
Investors
Shrink Manager is preparing for a pre-seed round to expand engineering, analytics, integrations, and partner support.
We welcome conversations with investors interested in:
-
food technology
-
compliance
-
supply chain digitization
-
workflow automation
-
operational analytics
Our Philosophy
We believe food operations software should be:
-
practical
-
straightforward
-
affordable
-
grounded in real workflows
-
built with operators, not imposed on them
-
aligned with compliance and traceability requirements
-
and able to evolve with each stage of growth
Shrink Manager is built on these principles — and on the lived reality of a rapidly growing food production business.
